MOTD: Pop Of Purple

Hi Gals.
I thought I would start posting MOTD or Makeup Of The Day. I think I have done this in the past but I stopped. Soooooo....I'm going to start again. This will be my first upload up MOTD. 


This is what I like to do during spring/summer time. I love a neutral eye but sometimes its fun to add a pop of color. I like to add my pop of color under the lower lash line. It makes the look more fun and flirty. You can seriously do any pop of color you want. Its all looks great. One color I might avoid is red or pink. People might think your eyes look irritated or maybe it will look like you have been crying. We don't want that. Ha!

Review: E.L.F. Golden Bronzer

Hey Gals. I went to Target the other day and I decided to do a little E.L.F. haul and try out some of their products. Some of their products are hit and miss. I would say this one was right in between.

This is a bronzer from their E.L.F. studio line called "Golden Bronzer". I paid about $3 for this at Target. There are 4 different blocks of colors in this compact that you can swirl together or use individually. 

When I swatched this on my hand it looked more like a great cheek highlighter rather than a bronzer. When I think of bronzer, I think of a powder that I can use to contour my face, give me a healthy warm glow and it's a powder I can use to make me look a little darker. I use a highlighter to brighten and make areas stand out on my face like me cheek bones.  

This Golden Bronzer claims to give " a healthy looking glow with this shimmering powder," and that the "sheer soft powders provide an illuminating shimmer." I agree with all of this. If you are looking for a product that will give you a glow and a touch of color this is great especially for the price.

Review: Bare Minerals Well-Rested Face & Eye Brightener

If you are familiar with Bare Minerals, then you know about the original Bare Minerals Well Rested. This is a loose mineral eye brightener that you can use under or around the eye area to help brighten and make you look "well rested." Now they launched another well rested that is a face and eye brightener in a creamy liquid form. 

This Well-Rested will help brighten the complexion for a natural looking glow. This formula contains light reflecting minerals  what will help even the skin tone, minimize dark spots and discoloration over time. 




How to use this product:
-Turn the bottom of the pen clockwise to start the flow of product. (It takes a second for the product to come out the first time you use it)


- Use the brush tip end to apply the product. You can use it around the inner corner of your eye, or under you eyes to help reduce the appearance of dark circles. You can use your finger to help blend out the edges. 


-This product also looks nice on the top of your cheek bones for a healthy glow. You can use your finger to pat on the product then smooth out the edges. 


-This product can be used before or after foundation. 

What do I think?
This product does seem to brighten a little but I think it's very subtle. I think its great for on the go but I think I am still a fan of the original Well Rested product. I am curious to see if it does reduce the appearance of dark circles over time. 


The original Bare Minerals Well Rested is not going anywhere or being replaced so don't freak out :) 

Foundation Routine: Liquid & Cream Products

Hey Dolls! Happy Monday. Today I wanted to challenge myself and only use liquid and cream products on my face for my foundation routine. If you guys dont know already, I use Bare Minerals foundation which is a loose mineral foundation. I have not put one drop of liquid foundation on my skin for about 2 1/2 years! Sometimes I miss it but for the most part, I don't miss a liquid foundation. I am so used to a mineral foundation so now a liquid feels so heavy. 

In this look I used only cream and liquid products. The only powder I used was my Bare Minerals Mineral Veil to set my foundation in my "T-zone" and a powder blush for my contour powder. 

Here is everything I used.....

1. Prep your skin with a good moisturizer. Foundation goes on better when your skin is nice and hydrated.

2. Put on a primer next. A primer is a base for your foundation. It lays on top of a moisturizer which will lock in moisture. A primer will also create a smooth layer for your foundation to lay on. This is great for anyone with fine lines, large pores, and even wrinkles. It acts like a filler but still allows your skin to breath. Primer also extends the wear of your foundation making it last longer.

3. Apply Foundation.
Product: MAC Studio Finish Foundation in NC35. 
Brush: Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki

4. Conceal where needed.
Product: MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC30
Brush: MAC 242 Brush/MAC 130 Brush

5. Apply Bronzer. I like to put bronzer on the outside of my face to help frame my face, contour, and add a healthy glow where the sun would naturally hit. (temples, cheekbones, jawline)
Product: MAC Skinsheen Bronzer Stick in Guilty Bronze
Brush: MAC 187 Brush

6.Contour Cheek Bones (optional). Placing a darker powder in the hollows of your cheek bones will create the perfect shadow to make your cheek bones stand out and look defined. 
Product: MAC Harmony Blush
Brush: Bare Minerals Angled Blush Brush

7. Cream Blush. Cream blushes are great for a dewy finish and healthy glow.
Product: NYX Cream blush in Tickled
Brush: Fingers or MAC 188 Brush

8. Liquid Cheek Highlight 
Product: MAC Lustre Drops
Brush: Fingers or MAC 188 Brush
