Review: bareMinerals Show Me the Shimmer

The holiday lip sets are here! These are the kits that I look forward to the most. This one is definitely my favorite. I was able to get this at the BareMinerals preview. They usually do this a month before the product launches so you get a sneak peek and are able to purchase the products early.

Show Me the Shimmer is a beautiful lip set. It features 6 mini moxie lip glosses with lots of shimmer. There is a great range of different colors in this set which is great for any occasion. If your not a fan of shimmery lip glosses, this might not be the set for you. These glosses look great by themselves for a hint of color and shimmer, or they look great layered over your favorite lipstick.

Left to Right: Super Star, Crowd Pleaser Icon, Scene Stealer, Head Turner, Femme Fatal

These colors are pretty sheer but Femme Fatal has the most color payoff. This is a great kit to add to your makeup collection and a great set to add a little sparkle to your makeup look for the holidays. This set will be available starting in October and through the holidays for $25.

Review: MAC RiRi Hearts Mac Collection

The RiRi Collection is finally here!! This is the collection that everyone has been talking about. MAC launched their RiRi Hearts MAC collection early and I had to get my hands on it! This collection is amazing. The colors are beautiful and the packaging is awesome.

The packaging is a metallic rose gold with hot pink writing. So cute! When I saw it online, I thought it was going to look cheap in person. After seeing it, I feel like the packaging made the collection. All the detail is perfect.

The collection included two quad shadow palettes. One has warmer bronze tones, and the other has the cooler blues. I am pretty sure the 3 out of the four colors in each palette are permanent colors. There is only one color that is new and exclusive to this palette.

 Her Cocoa

Three out of the four colors have a shimmery metallic finish. The bottom two are the most pigmented. The lightest shade is more of a satin finish and is perfect for a highlight color. The gold isn't as pigmented but is buildable.

I was a little disappointed with this palette. The palette looks really pretty, but when I swatched them, the colors werent as pigmented as I hoped they would be.

Smoked Cocoa

In this palette, the 2 darkest colors were the hardest to swatch. The pigmentation was not that great. The lightest shade was my favorite and the grey was also nice because it had great pigmentation.

 Bad Girl Gone Good

The blush is one of my favorite products from the collection. It looks beautiful on and the pigmentation is awesome. You can get a lot of color pay off so a little goes a long way. This color would look great on medium to deep skin tones. This blush can be worn with a lot of different looks so you can get a lot of use out of it.

This blush is definitely a must have! I wish I purchased two!

This blush/bronzer duo is a repromote. MAC launched this with RiRis smaller collection earlier this year. I was so glad I discovered it this time around. The blush sold me right away. Its a very bright pinky coral with a golden shimmer undertone. Its beautiful. This color is also very pigmented so a little will go a long way.

 Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo

The bronzer in this palette is also really nice. It is more of a matte finish. It reminds me of my favorite bronzer by MAC which is the mineralize skinfinish in Give Me Sun. I think its a little bit lighter but this bronzer is buildable.

This is a great duo! Another favorite of mine.

This is a product that I needed to get my hands on. This is a cream color base called Diamonds. The name fits perfectly. When I first saw this online, I thought it was a powder highlighter. I was surprised to see it was a cream. This is great for an all over highlight or a pretty shimmery base for shadows. Its an all around product. The formula is very creamy. I usually stay away from these cream products because sometimes they dry out a little too quickly for me. Hopefully this time it will be different.

Diamonds Cream Color Base

I dabbed this right on the highest part of my cheek bones for a highlight and it looked great! It gave my skin a pretty dewy finish. Make sure you blend it out really well with the warmth of your finger of a highlight.

The product I get most excited about when a new collection launches is the lip products. I grabbed 3 out of the 4 colors that came in this collection. The darkest color is amazing and vampy. I love how matte it is. The red is a classic retro red and I am diggin out matte it is. The nude is very unique. It isnt like anything that I have already so I had to get it to test it out.

Left to Right: Nude, Talk that Talk, RiRi Woo

RiRi Woo, Talk that Talk, and Nude

RiRi Woo and Nude are the most pigmented out of the 3. Talk that Talk is a beautiful color, but the formula is really dry. You really need to work with the color and build it up to make it pigmented.

Last but not least, I grabbed the dark lip pencil to go with my Talk that Talk MAC lipstick. This pencil is also called Talk that Talk. The formula of this pencil is super creamy. It glides on really easily. I used this to line my lips and fill in the outer corners. You can actually layer this pencil and make it more intense.

Overall, this collection is amazing! If you can get your hands on them, do it! Here is my must haves from this collection:

-Bad Girl Gone Good Blush
-Hibiscus Powder Blush Duo
-Diamonds Cream Base
-RiRi Woo
-Talk that Talk

Whats your favorite product? Happy Shopping!!

E.l.f. Disney Villains- The Evil Queen

I was so excited when I saw that e.l.f. was creating these palettes again. They did these Disney palettes last year at Target but I never got my hands on them. I found these Disney palettes at my local Walgreens. There are four different Villains to choose from.

The Evil queen is one of my favorites. She had great makeup ;) . I really love the colors in this palette. You can create some really pretty looks.

These Palettes include 1 palette of 6 shadows,1 lip gloss, eye liner pencil, liquid liner, mascara, eye shadow brush, and eye shadow primer.

This palette has a good range of neutral shades. The majority of them are cooler tones. There are 2 matte shades and the rest have more of a metallic or satin finish. These shadows are very soft and are very pigmented.

I really like that this book also contains two step by step looks that you can create. They feature a day look and a night look using the shadows from the palette.

There is also a gloss that is in this set. The gloss is called "evil queen" and its a pretty vibrant pink. It has a nice color payoff.

These palettes are great. They are inexpensive and they are Disney! Who doesn't love Disney!! The shadow and lip gloss alone is worth the value. These palettes are fun to collect or just to pick your favorite Villain and create a fun look with it.

My Summer Favorites 2013

Hey Gals! Its getting hot so I have been gathering all my favorite products for summer. These products are my must haves that bring out the summer in me. Thought I would share :)

Bare Minerals Faux Tan Face I know during summer I like to tan but I like to protect my face from the sun. I usually shade it with a hat or a towel. My body would get really dark but my face would stay light! This product is great for giving your face a subtle tan to match the rest of your body.

Victorias Secret Beach Hair Wave Spray This spray is great for those lazy days or something easy to spray in your hair for a subtle different look. The spray will give you those natural loose beachy waves that are perfect for summer.

Victorias Secret Instant Bronzing Shimmer Dry Oil This has to be one of my favorite products! When I first saw it, I thought it was going to feel really greasy. It actually absorbs  really quickly. I have really dry skin so it keeps it really moisturized all day. It also leaves a really pretty shimmer that makes your skin glow!

Victorias Secret Instant Bronzing Tinted Shimmer Lotion This lotion makes your skin look like its skin of a golden goddess. The tint is nice to give you a little bit of color. Looks great all over!

Sun Goddess Sunless Tanner This is my favorite sunless tanner ever! It smells amazing, and makes you golden brown. You can get so dark with this tanner. My new obsession.

Victorias Pink Summer Daze Every girl needs a good body spray especially for summer. As soon as I smelled this body spray, it screamed summer! I had to have it. I always like to find new scents for different seasons. I also got the matching body foam cleanser and the body lotion in this scent.

Sephora Moonbaked Shadow I got this a couple years ago but I love busting this palette out during summer. You can get the prettiest smokey eye with these bronze tones. They are great wet and dry. I love the range of colors in this palette.

Coral Nail Polishes One of my favorite colors to wear during summer is coral. I have tons of coral nail polishes but these are my most recent coral purchases. Illamasqua makes a great bright color called Lament. Essie is where I get most of my polishes and the two most recent ones are called  Come Here! and Sunday Funday. Check these out!

Maybelline Dream Sun Bronzing Face Illuminator This is a new product from Maybelline. I am always looking for a product that will give my skin a pretty glow. I love dewey skin especially because my skin is really dry. This gives the nicest golden glow. Looks great on the cheek bones, cupids bow, and under your brows for a highlight. It would even be nice mixed with your liquid foundation.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural I have tried many bronzers over the years, and this one is my go to. Its more of a matte finish and looks great on every skin tones. Its perfect for framing the face and contouring. Can't get enough of this bronzer.

Loreal Paris Colour Riche Balm I love to find a lip balm that I can just throw on and go. My lips are so dry so a balm that will hydrate and give a little color is perfect for me. I love this line of lip balms. My favorite is #948 and #949. They also have nail polishes that match the lip balms too!

I hope this give you and idea of new products to try out for summer. I wanted to share all my must haves. Please let me know if you like any of these products or if you have products in mind that I should try! Happy Summer!! xo

Review: NEW bareMinerals MOXIE Lip Collection

Here is the blog post you have been waiting for! Last weekend Bare Minerals preview their new lip collection, Marvelous MOXIE. This collection features 20 brand new lip sticks, 10 new lip liners, and 4 new Moxie Lipgloss additions.

This collection is amazing. There is so much to choose from! There is something for everyone. I really happy that they decided to really expand the colors and have tons of options. There are soft shades, bright, and dark colors!

I was so excited about the lipsticks. When I saw them I was totally overwhelmed with all the colors. I wanted everything! To start off I got 5 out of the 20 shades. I picked 5 colors that were very different from each other so you can see the color range.

I will start off by saying that these lipsticks are super creamy! They glide really easily across your lips and feel very hydrating. These lipsticks contain Abyssinian Oil and Omega Fatty Acids to make your lips super smooth. Other ingredients are the vitamin A, C and E complex that helps to deliver antioxidant defense. What I love the most is the color payoff! You can get full coverage with these lipsticks. Also I noticed that these lipsticks are pretty long wearing. After I removed the lipstick it left a stain, so you can tell how really pigmented they are.

The swatches....

My favorite has to be Stand Out. I love how it looks on the lips and its dark without being too dark :)

The packaging of the lipsticks are pretty cool. The actual container is very sleek and clean. There is a cool way to open the lipsticks by a pull down button feature. You pull down the button to release the top. When you put the lipstick back in, you want to make sure you hear a click! The bottom of the container has the name a shows the color of the lipstick which is always helpful when your looking for a color.

Moxie lip glosses have been out for awhile now. I was excited to see there were 4 new additions to the line. I got 3 out of the 4 colors. I like Moxie glosses because they give you a minty cool feeling to your lips. You can also get a sheer to medium coverage.

I was really excited for the red gloss called game changer. I am always looking for a great red gloss to wear on its own or to layer on top of something else. Rule Breaker which is a pearlescent nude gloss also caught my eye. It looks great with a little liner and the gloss on top. Stunner is a bright cool purple/pink gloss. So pretty.

Last but not least...the lip liners. They previewed 10 new lip liners. There is such a great range of color choices, you can match a lip liner with anything!

The packaging of the lip liner is really nice. It's very sleek and clean. This lip liner is a twist up liner so you do not have to sharpen. I think a lot of people will be happy about this. There is also rubber grips near the base of the pencil which is a nice feature.

I only picked up one lip liner because I wanted to test it out first before I purchase more. The one I liked is called Revved. I figured it would go well with "Stand Out" lipstick I got. When I applied it, I was so surprised on how creamy it was! It literally glided on like butter. I also noticed it was longer wearing. Stayed on for a really long time. This pencil also claims to prevent feathering or bleeding of the lipstick. I am totally going to pick some more up once they officially launch.
