MAC Colorizations Double Feature 3 & 4

So @ first I was not too excited about the MAC Colorizations collection and didn't even check them out until they were already out for a couple weeks. I went into my local MAC and just figured I would check them out. I must say I love the packaging of these duos. I wish they would make these palettes permanent so we can put whatever pans of eye shadows we want in there and throw in our purse. I did hear later that they might make this palette permanent. The colors were pretty but the browns in the two palettes caught my eye. Both of them had a turquoise color with them but the browns sold me (Im a sucker for browns). One thing that I really wish they did was make names for each of the shadows that were in the palettes. Anyway, I got double feature 3 & 4 and created a look with DF 3.

I was in a bright mood today and the first color that popped in my mind was Teal/Turquoise. This is one of my favorite nail polishes from Essie. I got this at Target last month for about $8.

I have two nail polishes which are almost the same color and it took me a sec to figure out which one I liked better. Trophy Wife won. If your looking for a dupe of this color or something similar try "Who Let the Dorks Out?" by O.P.I @ Sephora. Here is a comparison:
"Trophy Wife" & "Who Let the Dorks Out?"
Trophy Wife is more metallic and has more blue in it and Who Let the Dorks Out has more of a green undertone and some shimmer in it. When you hold them side by side, they are very close.

BASICS: Brows

.Before.
 Why are brows important?
Brows are a very important feature on your face. The brows help change the shape of your face and also frame your face. Brows always complete the look so taking care of them an getting the right shape down for your face is important. Brow either make the look...or break the look!!

 .Placement.

1. Where your brows should start:
Draw an imaginary line from the outer balls of your nose straight up to your brows. This is where your brow should start.
2. Placement of your arch:
Place a ruler, or something straight at the tip of your nose. Lean the ruler so it lays directly across your pupil. This will give you a medium arch to your brow. If you lean the ruler so it hits the outside edge of your pupil, this will give you a large arch. (I prefer a large arch!)
3. Where should your brow end?
Place the end of your ruler at the edge of your nostril and point it to the corner of your eye. This is where your brow should end.

.fill in.
start from the center of your brow and move outward to the end of your brow. This area should be the darkest part. Now with the left over brow powder on your brush, start filling in the inner corner or the starting point of your brow. You want to keep this part soft or else it will be too harsh for your face and give you a "mean" or "angry" expression.
Products & Tools:
MAC 266 Brush and MAC Brow Shader Walnut/Ivoire (no longer available)

.Conceal & Define.
With any cream concealer and a small synthetic concealer brush, start at the beginning of your brow and start outlining around your brow. This will clean up the edges and give shape and definition to your brow. Get as close to your hair as you can.
Products & Tools
MAC 242 Brush & MAC NC20 Studio Finish Concealer

.Blend.
With any makeup sponge, start blending out the edges of your cream concealer. This is buff out the edges so it looks nice and clean.
Tools
Beauty Blender
.Set.
This step is optional. I used a brow gel to comb over my hair to keep it in place and lock in my color. This is just a clear brow gel with a mascara wand to apply.

This is my first NOTD (nail of the day) post on my blog. I have so many nail polishes and so many requests on my nail polish collection so I thought I would slowly show them off by doing this a few times a week! I would say I paint my nails probably 2 times a week bc they dont last very long with the sanitary products I use at work. Alcohol, brush cleaner, hand sanitizer and doing shipment destroys them!

I bought this nail polish quite awhile ago at Sephora. This color is from the Glee Collection by O.P.I. This color caught my eye from how the different colors and undertones change in different lighting. Plus I dont have anything like this. This color is an opaque opalescent grey according to the Sephora website. I used about 3 coats to achieve this look. This nail polish is still available on the Sephora Website for $9.50 (here)

BASICS: Bronzer

Where & Why?
Bronzer is used for many different reasons. Bronzer is great for giving you that look of a beautiful tan that you usually get after laying out in the sun or for giving your face a little more definition and to frame the face.

"3 or E motion"
Temples, Cheek Bones, Jaw Line
This is an easy guide to where you want to put your bronzer. I learned this technique from the makeup company...Bare Escentuals. This is a great placement for all different types of bronzers. Putting your bronzer here will frame your face, slim your face, and give you a sunkissed tan that looks natural. You can also put bronzer on your cheeks, and across the bridge of your nose. Where ever the sun would naturally hit your face!

BASICS: Contouring

 Where?
Where would I contour on my face? Contouring is for giving shape, definition, depth and to create shadows on your face. I like to contour to give my face more of a shape and to slim down certain areas.

Under Cheek Bones...
Creating that shadow under your cheek bones makes your cheeks look more defined, chiseled, and structured. A fluffy angled brush makes it easier to contour your cheek area with a bronzer or powder thats a few shades darker that your natural skin tone.
Nose...
Most people who contour around their nose area is to change the shape of their nose or make it look thinner. By applying a powder thats a shade or two darker than your natural skin tone will create a shadow down the side of your nose which will make your nose look more slim. Make sure you blend the line out down the side so its not so harsh.

Temples or Sides of Forehead...
By adding a darker powder to the sides of your temples will make the top half of your face look a little bit slimmer. If you add some darker powder on the top of your forehead, you will give the illusion that your forehead is smaller.

.Powders Great For Contouring.

BASICS: Highlighting

Where?
Where would you highlight on your face? There are many different areas on the face to highlight. Highlighting your face will help bring out certain features, Create high points and lift in your face, add light to your face, make your skin look youthful and hydrated and give your skin a gorgeous glow.  You want to highlight where the sun would naturally hit the high points on your face.
Cheekbones...
Highlighting the tops of your cheek bones will help your cheeks look a little more structured, and give your skin a luminous glow. We highlight the highest point of your cheek because thats where the sun would naturally hit it.
Cupids bow...
A fun trick that I have learned from other artists is highlighting the center top part above your lip which is called the "cupids bow". This will give the illusion that your top lip is a little bit fuller and its just a fun flirty look. Who doesn't like full lips?

Around Inner Tear Ducts...
Applying a highlight shadow around your tear ducts brings light to the center of your face. Also if your eyes are set close together, adding a bright shadow to the center give the illusion that your eyes are farther apart. Gives more of an open, bright appearance.

Under your brow bone...
Adding a lighter color under the outer part of your brow bone gives lift to that area. It will make the part under your brow bone stand out. This will also help define your brows as well. I usually put my brow highlight under the highest part of my arch and sweep out towards the tail end of my brow.

Other areas...
Other areas you can highlight is on the center of your forehead, on your chin and the bridge of your nose for a dewy look or under your eyes to brighten.
