Review: Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette- In the Nude

Hi Everyone! Happy Monday. Just wanted to share this awesome palette that I picked up at Sephora in San Francisco a couple weeks ago.

I went over to the Sephora makeup display and my eye was caught by this baked shadow palette. There was two different ones and of course, I am drawn to the neutral palette. I really like baked eye shadows for summer or night time looks. Baked shadows always have the prettiest finish and shimmer. They usually feel like a creamy powder.

I swatched these shadows on my hand and they were beautiful! They were so shimmery and pigmented. I pictured myself rocking these shadows on my eyes for summer. Even a few of these shadows should be perfect as a shimmery cheek highlight.

 1. cream
2. light bronze
3. soft gold
4.peach
5. taupe

6. silver
7. deep brown
8. honey brown
9. deep sienna
10. plum

I have a lot of baked shadows but these I think are by far the best I have seen. I love them so much that I want to go back and get the darker palette.

This palette includes 10 neutral, shimmery baked shadows that retails for $30.

Product Description:
" This gorgeous collection of glittery baked eye shadows includes ten sultry nude shades. Each delivers a cosmic amount of diamond dust shimmer. The compact features beautiful gold-laced artwork." -Sephora Website

This palette is free of parabens, artificial fragrances, dyes, and sulfates.

Have you guys tried this palette before? How do you feel about baked shadows?

Have a great day! xo

My Recent Trip to the Salon (April 2012)

Hey Gals!
I got my hair done last week and I always get questions on what my hair color is or what style I get, etc. I thought it would be fun to share a few pics of my hair make over process.
I was definitely due for a touch up with my color and cut. My roots were about 3-4 inches grown out. Not cute. I always like lots of layers so that I could have a lot of body to my hair when I style it. My hair was grown out and it was a little heavier up top so I knew I needed a cut.

What cut do I ask for?
I love big, full, voluminous hair. My hair is thick so it tends to be pretty heavy which weighs down my hair. In order for me to have volume and add height to my crown, I need to have layers.

I always ask to have my shortest layer start at the top of my lip. I get long trailing layers through out my hair with texturizing on the ends. I don't like my ends to be blunt and straight across so I usually ask for a "point cut". I'm not a hair expert but to me this means cutting up into the hair instead to straight across to add some texture.

I also ask for layers around my face to frame it.

Color?

I usually like to have a little red undertone when it comes to my hair color. I really liked the color we used last time I got it done so she decided to just touch up my roots.

The brand of hair color she uses is by Scruples. Honestly I cant tell you the exact color she uses because she doesn't use one color. She mixes three colors together to make a custom color for me.

Here is the end result to my hair make over! All I did was straighten it and tease my roots at my crown. I took a quick picture in my car before I had to go to work. This isnt as good of quality as my regular camera but you get the point. ;)

Thought you gals might like me doing this. I get so many questions about my hair. I thought it would be fun to show the process. Let me know if you have any more questions!
What hair products do I use?
-Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner
-Pureology leave in conditioner
-Pureology Heat Protectant
-Big Sexy Hair Hair Spray
-Kenra Finishing Spray Medium Hold

Whats In My Makeup Bag 2012 (April)

Hey everyone. Today I thought I would share whats currently in my makeup bag. I'm always getting new makeup bags and filling it with different products that I use daily. I keep my makeup bag in my purse so I fill it will all my essentials.

My Makeup Bag: My new white makeup bag is from Bare Minerals. I loved this bag because it was small and had two zippered pockets. I figured it would be nice to have different pockets to separate different products.

Ed Hardy Hearts and Daggers Mini Perfume: This is my favorite perfume to wear. I like to carry a little mini bottle of it just for the times I need a quick spray to smell yummy ;)

Lip glosses: A girls best friend is a little lip gloss. The ones that I have been using lately is the Bare Minerals Moxie lip gloss in Hot Shot and Show off. These glosses give a minty cool feeling to the lips. The other gloss I like to use is from MAC. This was from their Too Supreme collection and the color is called Almond Blossom. I really like how easy it is to apply and the color is amazing!

Duo Lash Glue: I wear falsies everyday! Sometimes you never know when your lashes are falling off and you need a touch up asap. Its the worst when half of your lash is falling off and you have no lash glue! So I always make sure I have one with me at all times.

Eyelash Curler: I love my falsies curled because it makes my eyes look a little bit bigger. Sometimes you need a touch up if your lashes tend to be falling down.

Ed Hardy Hand Lotion: This is my favorite lotion because its my favorite perfume scent. I usually have dry skin and my pet peeve is having dry ashy hands. Not Cute! This lotion smells good, hydrates, and adds a pretty glow to my skin.

Bare Minerals Blush and Bronzer: The two things I like to touch up before I go out is my blush and bronzer. I don't like the look of looking dull and have no color to my skin. I really like to use my current bronzer from Bare Escentuals called The Skinny Dip. The blush that is great with any look that I use is the Bare Minerals The One Blush. They both have big mirrors which is nice for a quick touch up.

Big Sexy Hair Powder Play: I love this stuff. If you guys know me I like a little volume in my hair. Sprinkle some of this powder at your roots, flip your hair over and massage into your hair, you instantly get a little lift. Its great if you don't have hair spray or a teasing comb handy.

Eyeko Mascara: This is a mascara I recently bought and really like it. I have a bad habbit of picking or rubbing my eyelashes during the day so sometimes I need to re apply a few coats of mascara. This mascara is nice because it adds length to my lashes.

What do you gals keep in your makeup bag?

Have a great day! xo

NOTD: Essie Nail Polish in Ole Caliente

Hey Gals! Happy Sunday! The last nail polish I used was more on the cool side and since the weather is heating up, I thought I would use something a little warmer. This color is perfect for summer.

This color is called Ole Caliente. The name says it all. Its described as red-orange with a pink undertone. This summer, corals and oranges are totally the new trend. This color would be a great addition to your nail polish collection.

This color is very pigmented. I used two coats and topped it off with Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat.

What are your favorite colors to rock during spring and summer?

Skincare for Dry Skin (My Routine)

Hi Ladies!  This winter made my skin so incredibly dry and flaky so I had to do something about it. I tried the whole line of Bare Mineral Skincare products and these past few weeks I have noticed a difference in my skin. My skin is finally back to normal. Bye Bye dry skin.

I thought you gals might relate to my skin issues so I thought I would share what I have used these past couple months to get rid of my dry skin.

Here is my routine.

Morning Skincare

Bare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser- This cleanser is a milky texture which is really gentle and great for everyday. This cleanser removes makeup, refreshes and hydrates your skin. I love how this cleanser is gentle enough to rub around your eye area to remove makeup without any stinging. The smell is so refreshing. Smells like lavender.

Bare Minerals Renew and Hydrate Eye Cream- My eye lids have been flaky this winter so I used this morning and night. This eye cream hydrates around your eye area and is anti aging.

Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin- This is my favorite facial moisturizer. Its the perfect about of moisture for your dry skin for everyday. Its a nice light formula that doesn't feel heavy under your makeup.  There are no artificial fragrances and its paraben free.

Bare Minerals Prime Time Face Primer- This is not technically considered skincare but I do use this on top of my moisturizer before my foundation. The primer with lock in the moisture from your moisturizer. This is make your foundation lay smoother especially if you have dry flaky skin.

Night Skincare
Bare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser- see info above

Bare Minerals Intensive Glow Pads Brightening Treatment- This stuff if the best! Its a 2 month supply of pads. These pads have a soft side for everyday and a rough side for exfoliation. I use this everyday and my skin always looks bright and smooth right after I use it. My pores also appeared smaller and less noticeable as well. FYI you will feel a tingly feeling after you use these pads. This is normal. If the tingle is too much, use the softer side and only use the rough side once or twice a week depending on how sensitive your skin is.

Bare Minerals Active Cell Renewal Night Serum- I use this serum after I use my glow pads. This serum boosts moisture levels in the skin and helps with cell turnover. Perfect for people with dry skin. All you need is a pearl size amount of this stuff and rub it all over your face. Smells great and its not at all greasy.

Bare Minerals Renew and Hydrate Eye Cream- See info above

Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing Cream- I like to use a cream at nighttime so the extra moisture is absorbed in my skin as I am sleeping. I always wake up to hydrated skin when I use this cream.

Let me know if you guys decide to try my skincare routine.
Just FYI: I am not a dermatologist or an esthetician. I am just recommending these products based on my personal experience.

MAC Reel Sexy Collection Cremesheen Glass

MAC just launched a new collection called Reel Sexy. To be honest, the only thing that caught my eye was the Cremesheen Glasses. These are my fav. I have been collection different colors from different MAC Collections. I really like the finish and the texture of these glosses. They also smell amazing!

There were four colors that came out in this collection and two of them I thought would be pretty for spring and summer. These lip glosses look great on their own as a sheer wash of color or on top of a lipstick for some added shine.

Left to Right: Private Screening (mid tone peach) and Star Quality (bright orange coral)

These glosses can be found at MAC stores, counters, and online. These glosses retail at $22.50.

What are your favorite MAC Lip glosses?

MAC Tres Cheek Collection (swatches and pictures)

Hey Gals! MAC recently came out with a new collection called Tres Cheek. This launch was all about blushes. One of my favorite things to buy when it comes to makeup is blushes. Blushes can really brighten your look up and there are so many fun colors out there.

This collection has a really nice range of bright and soft colors that are perfect for spring and summer coming up. All the blushes in this line have different finishes to them.  I really like the finishes of these blushes that I got. They give a pretty sheen on your cheeks which will make your skin look luminous and fresh.

Here are the two colors I had to have ;)

 Modern Mandarin- Red Orange

Immortal Flower- Bright Peach

These blushes are $24 and can be found at MAC stores, counters, and online. I do believe that most of these blushes are sold out so if you see some you like from the collection, you better go get them asap. Cant wait to rock these bright fun blushes this spring and summer.

JewelMint: Opera Pearl Necklace

This month I fell in love with a few of my selections on jewel mint. I really liked this long necklace with the pearl detail around the chain. I thought this was a cute simple necklace that could really dress up an outfit.

The chain is silver with off white and rose pearls around the chain. The necklace is 44' long and can be double up for a different shorter look.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Cut It Out

Hey Gals. I have been ready for spring time so I thought I would add some spring to my life in my nails! These are from Sally Hanson called the Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips. These are great. If you have seen my past posts, I have used these strips a lot.

I have had this design for awhile but I didn't want to use them yet until it was closer to spring. I thought the flower print was so cute and would go with any outfit since its black and white. This pattern in called Cut It Out.

These are really easy to apply and last about 7-10 days depending on how fast your nails grow or how hard you are on your nails. I love these because they hardly chip. My nails grow really fast so I have to take them off around the 7th day.

My nails strips in these pics have been on for a few days so you can see that my nails have grown out. I at least wanted to take pics so you guys can see how cute this pattern is.

You can find these nail strips at most drug stores like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, anything like that. I know they are also available at Target, Walmart, etc. These run about $10 each which can be kind of pricey but they are fun and I think are worth it!

TIP: To make these strips last a lot longer and stay shiny, add a top coat of clear nail polish. I recommend Poshe Top Coat.

Check out my YouTube Video on how to apply these:

MAC In Extra Dimension Highlighter

Hey Guys! I'm very excited about this new product from MAC. They launched their new collection last week called In Extra Dimension.

"Introducing a new liquid-powder formula with prismatic reflections that sculpts, highlights and models the face" -MAC Website

I picked up 2 out of the 3 highlighters from this collection. My favorite thing to do when it comes to my makeup is to make my skin have a pretty glow. I fell in love with these because the finish of these highlighters leaves an amazing glow, making the skin look wet and dewy. These are great for summer for that JLo look.

Superb- Soft peachy nude with multi dimensional shimmer

Whisper of Guilt- Light Soft White with shimmery sheen

Whisper of Guilt and Superb

These retail for $34 and can be found at MAC Stores, counters, and online. These will sell out fast so if you like them, I would go purchase them asap. These cheek highlighters are amazing and I recommend them to anyone who loves to add a glow to their skin.
